Dairy Partners are a long established family owned British dairy company supplying UK and overseas markets. We manufacture a range of pasta filata cheese products including mozzerella and pizza cheese in various formats for some of the leading food companies across the globe.

We work in close partnership with British dairy farmers as well as customers delivering healthy cheese and other dairy products.

**Position**:
Reporting to the Shift Manager, the Team Leader will be responsible for the management and control of all staff on site including:

- ensuring that products are manufactured to the correct safety, legality, integrity and quality standards.
- day to day responsibility for holidays, absenteeism and training and development needs.
- ensuring efficient production that achieves agreed KPI’s.
- efficiently operate and maintain production machinery to manufacture quality products.
- carry out routine and general line operator maintenance and support the Engineering team during planned and unplanned maintenance.
- ensure that production processes function at their optimum level through the proper allocation of skills during shift periods, to minimise disruption, delays and waste, whilst adhering to the required quality standards at all times.

This role is responsible and accountable for the delivery of Safety, Quality and Production targets for a manufacturing team. This will be achieved through coordination of Materials, Production plan, Changeovers etc; to maximise production targets; and effective, informed decision making.

**Main Duties and Key Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for the effective operation and basic maintenance of production machinery
- To communicate daily with the engineering team to highlight any potential engineering issues
- To safeguard food safety & product quality
- Working to defined procedures
- To maintain work area standards
- Leading a team by encouraging and demonstrating best practice and working towards the achievement of the team’s overall objectives and standards
- To oversee the effective and efficient use of all machinery, ensuring optimum line performance is achieved and the improvements to plant and business processes continue
- Ensuring that the factory is clean and tidy in accordance with the hygiene and cleanliness rules
- Ensuring the safety and hygiene on site is monitored and maintained to a high standard
- Assist in the compliance with all relevant internal and external standards GMP, ISO, HACCP, Allergen Controls, Environmental checks, Food Safety Audits, QMS and Health & Safety
- Advise and work with rest of Management team on issues that require addressing to ensure compliance with business needs in order to produce safe and legal products
- Presenting and leading team meetings to inform colleagues of production figures, quality issues and relevant business updates
- Develop and implement training plans
- Record and monitor plant efficiency, record and analyse plant breakdowns, delays and stoppages with an awareness of cost implications
- Where necessary plan production gaps to carry out engineering maintenance with least disruption to the department

- Proven ability to complete basic engineering maintenance tasks and production line changeovers.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels with a strong team working ethic.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, mentor or develop others.
