We are seeking a versatile and dynamic individual to join our team in a multi-team capacity that spans Finance and People Operations. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in a wide range of financial tasks, including assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, invoice processing, and supporting with month end and year-end processes and audits.

Additionally, the role extends into the heart of our People Operations, where you will play a crucial role in onboarding, supporting the performance management process, coordinating events, and managing office logistics.

Ideal for someone passionate about contributing to the supportive, engaging culture of our organization, this role is a blend of analytical and interpersonal skills, sitting at the heart of inner workings of Sero.

**What we’ll be asking you to do**

As Finance and people administrator you will have the following responsibilities

**Finance and Accounting Responsibilities**:

- Assisting with all aspects of invoicing, including posting and raising invoices, and administrative support on the purchase order system.
- Perform monthly financial tasks, including bank reconciliations, preparing journals and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including supporting the audit.
- Conduct regular financial tasks including uploading supplier payments to the bank, credit control, and monitoring the accounts mailbox.
- Ensure accuracy in expense claims and VAT calculations on mileage claims.
- Providing general administrative support to the finance department

**People and Places Team Responsibilities**:

- Organize and maintain People-related documents, from onboarding to compliance and audits.
- Draft and review formal documents, including offer letters and contracts.
- Act as a primary contact for the People and Places team, handling queries and supporting the team.
- Participate in recruitment events and new employee inductions.
- Support performance management, development programs, engagement, and recognition activities.
- Assist with offboarding processes and coordinate company events and meetings.

**Office Management and Administrative Tasks**:

- Manage office supplies, including stationery and IT equipment, and oversee external vendors.
- Handle mail distribution and manage health and safety actions.

**It would be great if you also had..**
- Ideally, we’re looking for someone with at least a years’ experience working in the green energy industry, with prior experience in a similar role.
- Experience of Microsoft Excel and Accounting Software (Xero, Sage, SAP, Netsuite etc) is essential.
- Excellent numeracy skills and a strong attention to detail.
- This is one of the main qualities we are looking for. We are a small team where processes are still being developed. The ability to manage your own workload will be very important.
- Communication skills, you will be encouraged to have discussions with everyone at Sero at all levels as well as external partners.

**Working Hours**: We're looking for about 37.5 hours per week for this role - what would generally be called Full Time. How that breaks into days or a working pattern is up to you.

**Working Times**: Our policy allows working anywhere in the UK at any time, ultimate flexibility. We'd like at least some of your working hours to be coordinated with other internal and external team members to ensure we're being efficient and communicating effectively. We think work should fit your lifestyle, so you can work when you can be most efficient.

**Location**: We have an office based in Cardiff and we provide our Sero team the option to work flexibly, depending on role and responsibility. While we are fully set up for virtual working and support you in which works best for your work life balance,
