Now experiencing rapid growth, we are looking for an ambitious Design Assistant to join our team and support our Designer with the growing product selection. This is a versatile role which will combine administrative tasks with hands on design work and presents a unique opportunity to make significant contributions to the outcome of collections and product developments within a small and growing business.

The company has significant growth plans over the next 5 years, and we are looking for someone with the vision to progress beyond an assistant role in the future.

**About you**

You have a passion for design, an eye for detail and embrace the creative process. You may have recently graduated or being looking for your next career move. You have a basic understanding of the baby/ toddler/ childrens têxtiles market and an interest in growing your career within this or a related industry. Sustainable processes are important to you and you are passionate about advocating practices which are kindest to mother earth. You have a strong work ethic and are focused on creating beautiful, considered, and practical design work. You are a brand ambassador, ensuring that our values are never compromised throughout the concept, design, manufacturing process and beyond.

You are enthusiastic in contributing to the smaller, administrative tasks as well as the key responsibilities of your role and are dedicated to supporting the Design department to work as efficiently and productively as possible.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist the Designer with day-to-day tasks (administrative and design).
- Research and present trends and inspiration, comparative analysis & competitor observation.
- Build a strong working relationship with our manufacturers so as to support the Designer with the sampling process, ensuring feedback is communicated in a timely manner.
- Generate CAD mock ups of product.
- Artwork design files and create technical specifications for factories
- Support the design critical path by liaising with other departments to deliver collections on schedule.
- Contribute to decisions surrounding the design direction and offer creative solutions to problems.
- Produce and maintain technical files and product compliance documentation
- Take responsibility for the general upkeep of the design room, and organisation of samples and products at Head Office.

**Occasional Responsibilities**
- Attend and support with Retail and Trade Shows, Market Research Trips and Customer Focus Groups.
- Prepare product performance analysis for Monthly Management Meetings.
- Liaise with the Sales & Marketing departments regarding product information, customer queries or critical path updates.

**Essential Skills/Experience**
- Proficient on the Adobe Suite (Ai, Id, Ps)
- Understanding of Excel and MS Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prepared to be challenged
- A team player who enjoys working collaboratively
- Can work to pre-agreed deadlines
- A responsible individual with the ability to work autonomously when required
- Flexible attitude required to work in a small business, with commitment to the role

**Desired Skills/Experience**

- Proficient of CAD software (e.g. Solid Works, Rhino, Fusion 360 or Sketch Up)
