Direct Payments Worker

**About the Role**
We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Direct Payment Team as a Direct Payment Officer. We offer flexible working where you will be expected to work some days in the office but will also have the opportunity to work from home, with occasional visits to service users in the community.
The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting individuals with Direct Payments advice as well as arranging set up of their Direct Payment. This includes providing information about the individual becoming an employer and funding advice. Individuals have a choice to manage their own care and support via a Direct Payment, the person can arrange a care agency or employ a personal assistant. The applicant will also be responsible for reviewing the Direct Payment to ensure the person is using their Direct payment in line with their care and support needs and is accessing the appropriate care services.
The Direct Payments is a dynamic and friendly team within Adult Social Care, liaising directly with service users and their families to ensure that Direct Payments are used in accordance with the Care Act and are supporting their care needs. the applicant must be able to work consistently and promptly, showing sensitivity and tact.
This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.
Whilst the location/work-base for this role may have been specified our evolving ways of working means that the role may require you to also work remotely (e.g., from home/other locations). We will discuss this with you during the recruitment process.
