**Job summary**:
This is a unique opportunity to work in an interesting and dynamic department, delivering our public sector portfolio of work on behalf of the Department for Business and Trade, working closely with colleagues in our sponsor departments, The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and NHS England (NHSE). This role underpins the NHS Long Term Plan, which sets out the intention for DBT to work with selected trusts to export NHS innovations.
This post sits within Healthcare UK (HCUK), part of the Science and Technology Directorate. There is a growing demand from overseas to learn more from the UK’s expertise and capabilities in Clinical Services and Health Systems Strengthening. By sharing its expertise and innovations, the UK can contribute to global health outcomes and prosperity and re-invest revenue in UK patient services and the development of innovative new treatments. The unit will help match public sector teams and their partners - including technology and pharmaceutical firms - with world-leading experts on health systems in other countries.
HCUK provides tailored support for NHS organisations in developing their international strategy and facilitating global export projects for UK suppliers. HCUK has helped NHS organisations raise revenue that is reinvested into patient care and developing innovative new treatments, supporting jobs, growth and innovation in the health and science sectors.
The team will develop, refine and implement a strategy and relevant programmes to effectively support the NHS and DHSC ALBs to increase export opportunities and to support current activities to operate more effectively. The job holder will work closely with colleagues in our Healthcare and Life Sciences teams to ensure that the healthcare sector is represented in the ongoing development and promotion of the UK offer.
