The User Experience Designer creates easy and delightful experiences for users interacting with ANSYS products and services. The UX designer assesses the functional and content requirements of a product, develops storyboards, creates wireframes and task flows based on user needs, and produces visually detailed mockups. A passion for visual design and familiarity with UI trends and technologies are essential in this role, enabling the UX designer to bring fresh and innovative ideas to a project. This is an advanced role, suited for individuals with a demonstrated passion for usability problem-solving and ideation in design. All aspects of design should be brought to bear on any design task; and a carefully cultivated sense of a design “right-ness” should be felt, along with an ability to clearly articulate the reasons behind this feeling.
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- Independently designs, develops, and evaluates cutting-edge user interfaces
- Continually demonstrates fluency in visual design principles with extreme attention to details with little oversight
- Demonstrates excellent understanding of typography and color theory
- Has concomitant experience in modeling and analysis software and workflows, with emphasis on Ansys-type products
- Judges importance of, responds to, and prioritizes UX-focused software problems
- Collaborates on and contributes to design and methods patents implemented in ANSYS software
**Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience**
- BS or BA in Human-Computer Interaction, Design Engineering, or Industrial Design with 1-3 years’ experience or MS
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite & CAD/CAE in any form
- Experience in the full development cycle for a software product, from ideation to shipment
- Is detail-oriented and utilizes highly developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Understanding of the software development process and ability to communicate well with software development teams
**Preferred Qualifications and Skills**
- Certificate in HCI
- Particular Experience with:
- Tools & technologies for UI implementation:
- Photoshop / Illustrator / Figma
- Ability to:
- Smoothly iterate on designs, taking direction, adjusting, and re-focusing towards a converged design
- Prototype rapidly using any tools available
