Head of Group Procurement

Deliver and develop a Procurement Strategy that aligns with the business strategy and deliver the targeted benefits and financial savings needed to meet budgeted savings plans.
Lead, manage and develop the Procurement function by setting objectives and targets and providing ongoing performance measurement.
Drive operational improvements within the Procurement function to deliver increased efficiency and effectiveness.
Lead and drive business wide best practice to Procurement processes and policies
Define and manage key supplier relationships, across all spend categories, to deliver breakthrough performance on cost, service, and quality.
Design and implement reporting mechanisms for cost savings performance, capturing budgeted, realised and project savings across the business and proactively measure supplier performance through financial and non-financial metrics.
Train new team members and monitor their ability to use the Orderwise system competently.
Any other reasonable requests from management
Support MST group in all group activities
A good understanding of the manufacturing sector, preferably in the marine or batch production environment
Demonstrable experience within senior Procurement/Purchasing role, ideally MCIPS accredited
Experience and knowledge of sustainable procurement practices
Experience in managing both direct and indirect materials, goods, and services.
Experience leading and developing a Procurement/Purchasing Team to success
Ability to negotiate third party contracts with significant variation in value and duration, ensuring best value and that terms and quality standards are monitored and met
Evidenced experience of delivering tangible benefits with the supply chain
Strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills, both internally and with key external stakeholders
High level of IT competence, specifically, ERP systems and MS Office packages, including Excel
Marine Specialised Technology Limited is one of the world’s leading designers, manufacturers and maintainers of high-speed workboats from 5m to 25m in length for global defence and security markets. Operating from two sites in the Northwest of England the organisation currently employs 145 people. The company is now entering a further accelerated growth phase having recently moved to a 6.5 acre waterside shipyard premises and is on target to double the current £20M revenue over next 2 years with its existing order book alone.
