Oxfam in Brentwood are currently looking for volunteer retail assistants to help us fight to support the worlds most vulnerable communities. If you have a spare 4 hours we would love to hear from you.

Become a volunteer here in Oxfam Brentwood, we have roles for those who are especially happy to work on the till meeting and greeting, also we are keen to find volunteers with interests in areas like Ladies fashion, antiques, stamps, vintage, homeware, books you don't need to be an expert, just have an interest.

We also have vacancies for those who wish to be away from public view sorting through the very many interesting boxes and bags of donations we receive, getting items shop ready and prices researched. We have many shift available.

We are also keen to find volunteers who would like to become volunteer shift leaders, people who are happy to take on a bit more responsibility while the Manager is on a day off or holiday.

Also we have an online shop which we really would like to build on, this role often involves researching prices, listing, photographing etc a little knowledge would be helpful, but training will be given.

If you wish to gain new valuable experience, meet new people or even want to learn supervisory skills we can help you. This could be the way to gain that experience you need for your next paid job role?

Giving your time will make all the difference, we estimate that one 4 hour shift will provide enough income to enable Oxfam to provide life saving handwashing facilities for 81 people, this is just one of many areas Oxfam supports along with places like Yemen who are on the brink of famine, with 16 million people relying on food aid.

All we ask is that you are happy to work in a diverse and inclusive team.

Volunteering has been linked to better physical, mental and emotional health along with increasing your confidence and making you feel generally happier.

Please note this is an unpaid volunteer role but, Out of pocket expenses are met ie Travel cost and lunch if volunteering over 5 hours
