These opportunities rarely come around and what a role this one is.
This will definitely be a directing role, looking at the strategy, doing the forecasting, and putting a bit of data behind the sales plan: where are the opportunities in the market, how are the targets going to be met, how can we improve the sales funneland the longer term forecasting? You’ll be quite data driven, and know what makes a good sales plan.
They’ve doubled their turnover in the last 6 years, and they know there’s plenty more opportunity out there for growth. Asia is a big growth market, so we’d like someone who has experience of selling into Asia.
For this to work, we need someone who understands the market. The end user is researchers, scientists, PhD professors and students, and we need someone who understands how to sell to that market. It doesn’t matter specifically what type of instrument orkit you’ve sold, they can teach you how it works
You'll be coming into this role with a clear background in leading a high-performing sales & marketing function. You could be a Head of Sales that feels they have nowhere else to move in your current business or a Sales Manager that wants to put their ownstamp on something.
They have a very healthy sales pipeline due to their excellent reputation in the market, which has mostly come from referrals and existing business. However with a bit more focus on BD, there is a big opportunity to deliver growth, which will be supportedby recent investment in operations.
- Previous sales experience of technical high-value products.
- Strong leadership capability with management experience.
- Data driven: able to put together well thought out forecasts and reports.
