**What do you think a Support Worker really does?**

A Support Worker is someone who looks after the well-being of people in their daily lives. They may help people living with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health needs to live their lives more independently. A Support Worker does just that, whilst encouraging people to reach their potential by providing both physical and emotional support. The role of a support worker is so varied - each person has unique activities, hobbies and routines - which makes the job unique too.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Support Worker to join our small and friendly team in Ystradgynlais on a part-time basis (16 hours per week). In this rewarding and pivotal role you will be assisting & encouraging people in supported living to become integrated members of their local community, promoting physical and social participation.

So, you could be going to a coffee morning, a walk down the coast, a GP appointment, as well as help to take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support their health and wellbeing such as; arts and crafts, watching the footie, drama, musical evenings, gardening, shopping trips and social occasions. We are a values-based company who put the people we support first. As a general guide, duties may include some support with personal care needs, and full training and support would be provided.

**Please note**:Due to the nature of the service and requirements of the individuals we support, holding a full UK or EU driving licence is mandatory. We cannot accept those with an International Driving Licence as the insurance terms set by the vehicle insurer state that the licence must be a UK or EU Licence.

You get to know the people you are supporting here at mirus That is what makes us unique
