**Hybrid - Derby (1 day in office per week)**

**£42,572 - £56,888**

As part of an innovative team responsible for the delivery of a modern data service, the _Lead Database Administrator _is responsible for the ongoing strategic development of the corporate database systems and the corporate systems integration platform including the maintenance, performance, security, and availability of these core systems. The technology maintained by the _Lead Database Administrator_ is mission critical and has very high impact across the organisations Operations.

The Lead Database Administrator will support the delivery of game changing projects to ensure the team deliver excellence to their customers and staff across core requirements in teaching, research, regional, civic as well as the traditional IT DBA role.

**Experience**:

- Demonstrable experience of data modelling and database design.
- Demonstrable experience of developing and deploying SSIS packages.
- Demonstrable experience of developing and deploying PL/SQL & T-SQL.
- Demonstrable experience of database performance management and tuning.
- Proven experience delivering in a high performance multi-disciplinary data team.
- Metadata management.
- Integration of cloud database services with on-premises database infrastructure.
- Proven experience of developing technical strategies and policies in line with business requirements.

**Desirable Experience**
- Relevant industry technical certifications e.g., MCSA.
- ITIL Foundation.
- Prince 2 Foundation.

**Skills, knowledge & abilities**:

- Understanding of project management lifecycle from conception through implementation.
- Relevant proficiency and technical knowledge of development platforms.
- Demonstrated proficiency with relevant programming / scripting and source code management.
- Proficiency in analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to correlate cross-platform technologies.
- Oracle database administration.
- SQL Server database administration.
- In depth SQL code skills and ability to walk through code to provide solutions.
- Operating Systems (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu, Windows).
- Storage management techniques.
- Ability to build and maintain broad network of business relationships.
- Good understanding of current and emerging technologies and how other enterprises are employing them to drive digital business support.
