We are looking for a Member Support Assistant to join us in Chelmsford
**Member Support Assistant - The Role**
The Member Support Assistant for the Membership & Marketing Team will be responsible for supporting Chelmsford Star Co-op’s membership proposition within all Society branches and stores.
This includes recruiting new members, promoting member events and offers, and responding to member and customer enquiries on site.
They will represent the Society, both within our branches and at third-party events the Society is attending. They will deliver an efficient and effective service t colleagues, members and customers.
**Responsibilities;**
- To spend time in our stores promoting membership, member benefits and member events, including signing up new members on site.
- To assist colleagues, members and customers with any queries in-store by accessing the membership database remotely.
- To host and co-ordinate two member coffee mornings each fortnight. They will work with the Membership Administrator to ensure regular guest speakers.
- To liaise with the Marketing Co-ordinator to ensure all events and offers are promoted in store and to ensure all posters and literature are kept up to date.
- To look out for Community-minded individuals who may be interested in standing for election within membership, and give details as appropriate.
- To provide any other ad hoc assistance to the M&M team, which may include support at external events.
**Member Support Assistant - What we need from you**
The role involves interacting and engaging daily with colleagues at all levels, as well as charities, businesses, customers and co-op members of all ages.
**Experience;**
- Experience and confidence in customer facing roles is essential.
- An excellent telephone manner.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel is required, and full training of our membership system will be provided.
- Self-motivated and flexible in their approach to work.
- Excellent people skills.
- Comfortable with talking in front of small groups.
- Experience with social media would be useful.
- Knowledge of Chelmsford Star and its community work, Co-ops in general or of local charities would be helpful.
