We are responsible for the entire range of children’s education, health and social care services in all three boroughs. We use a Signs of Safety practice model and approach which ensures the voice of the child is at the heart of everything we do. The role of the Family Engagement Officer is to support the engagement of families’ with children aged 0-18 involvement in decision making mechanisms within Children's Services, RBWM Services and external organisations.

**Please note this is a part time role (25 hours). Salary advertised will be calculated pro-rata.**

About the role

The post holder will work in our small new engagement team and has two key areas of work. The first is to support the engagement of families’ in decision making mechanisms within Children's Services which could be through informal sessions with young children and their parents, parent forums, online consultations etc.

The second area is to: Improve connectivity between community services and families and develop a database of “Family Champions” (volunteers) who have experienced challenges, have overcome them and are willing to support families with similar issues.
- The role will work closely with the children, young people and families Engagement Lead on developing engagement opportunities for young children and their parents/carers.
- The post holder will be able to work flexibly in terms of working hours, inc evenings and location (inc home working) based on the service needs. There is free parking at all Family Hub sites and the post holder will receive a Parking permit for relevant RBWM car parks.

About you

We are looking for an innovative, positive, dedicated worker who will help us to transform the lives and futures of children & young people.

You will need to be passionate about working with Children, Young people and their families. You will also need to be/have:

- NVQ Level 3 in a relevant discipline or equivalent qualification or experience in working with families.
- Maintain professional links with other professionals and agencies relevant to the service to ensure effective service delivery.
- Experience of working with vulnerable or disadvantaged families with complex needs and ability to design, implement and evaluate interventions that deliver positive outcomes
- Experience of keeping and maintaining records (in accordance with local policy) and producing accurate reports, presentations, written updates to a range of stakeholders (which may include families, children or young people).
- A full driving licence and access to a car for work
