**MRC Funding Officer**

**Salary**: £25,702, UKRI - Band C
Hours: Full time or Part time (minimum 30 hours per week)
Contract Type: Open Ended
Location: Polaris House, Swindon, Wiltshire.
Closing date: 8th January 2023
Interview date: 27th January 2023 - Interviews will be in person

**About the role**:
**What the role will include**:

- Respond to questions from the external research community through a shared mailbox
- Produce agendas and supporting documents for funding meetings
- Act as point of contact for MRC Board and Panel members throughout the funding process
- Co-ordinate attendance at funding meetings including applicants, Board and Panel members and MRC staff
- Attend funding meetings (in person and virtually) to provide administrative support, manage scores and logistics.

**You will need**:

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience of managing multiple activities to tight deadlines
- Experience in delegation and upward management
- Excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally, with a range of colleagues and external contacts
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Experience in working independently and proactively
- Resilience, working in a flexible way and managing change
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
- Literacy and numerical skills - e.g.4/C Grade in GCSE Maths and English or equivalent

The role is based in the Swindon office however MRC are trialling hybrid office-home working. The role also offers:
