Coventry, United Kingdom Orbit Group Full time

Orbit is a fantastic business and one that’s really going places.

Orbit was formed in 1967 with the aim of providing good-quality housing for people who would otherwise not be able to afford to buy their own home.

Over 50 years later, we’re one of the leading housing providers in the UK. Our services have diversified, our housing portfolio has expanded, and our reputation as an innovator within our sector has grown. But one thing that has never changed. Our belief in people and what they can achieve.

**Your role at Orbit.**

Orbit are delighted to announce that, due to growth and development within our procurement team, that we are looking to recruit a number of Procurement Business Partners who specialise in Services or Works. In this role you will be managing the day to day need from the business to recommend supplier solutions, negotiate pricing and terms and conditions for contract/orders from suppliers with a recurring spend of between £10,000 - £100,000 per annum.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

- Develop, build and manage delivery of a purchasing service to achieve value for money and manage risk for suppliers
- Define, establish and continuously improve purchasing process and SOPs
- Continuously monitor and analyse spend with suppliers to identify opportunities to increase spend under contract and achieve savings
- Review contract lifecycle analysis for suppliers to plan mid
- and long-term contract expiry and renewal pipeline
- Create, execute and track plans to maximise spend under contract
- Set savings, spend under contract and service level targets for the team and individual buyers
- Evaluate and set priority of purchase requests
- Manage day to day activities and plans for the team and operational execution of any purchasing projects
- Review the operational performance of the team on a regular basis
- Track and resolve issues that have been escalated by the team
- Solicit, review and act on stakeholder feedback to address service issues

**What will help you make a difference.**

To be successful in this role of Procurement Business Partner you will need to be educated to degree level or hold a CIPS qualification. You will also need to have a demonstratable track record of delivery and results in a purchasing role.

It is also essential that you have:

- Strong business acumen with good experience and knowledge of running a purchasing function
- Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at multiple levels
- Planning, organising, analytical and fact based decision making skills
- Ability to educate and inform stakeholders on basic purchasing process
- Good computing skills and experience, including Microsoft Office

It would also be desirable if you have knowledge of English contract law, procurement legislation, regulations, standards, procedures and techniques relevant to a registered provider.

**Why Orbit?**
**Rewarding your contribution.**
For those who want or need more of a work life balance our view is that this role is suitable for WorkSmart. This means we would consider a more flexible working arrangement, where your hours and work location are managed according to business, customer and personal needs. Agile working arrangements will be discussed during the interview process.

Some of our core benefits include:

- Group bonus potential up to 15% of salary
- 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays and the “Orbit day”
- Private medical insurance
- Excellent contributory pension scheme
- Life assurance
- A great pick and mix of flexible benefits including the option to buy and sell holiday and much more
