**Key Result Areas**
- Act as a SME for E&L on own and within a project team to work with clients to design and deliver high touch service solutions that meet customer expectations and requirements considering: budgets, timelines and regulatory requirements.
- Efficient and on-time delivery of work to agreed timescales and budgets.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provide oversight and expertise, internally and externally, for E&L studies and / or E&L regulations within cGMP. Support the development of E&L services within Smithers.
- Take a technical lead role in the designing of multiple staged E&L programmes. Effectively communicate with clients in different formats; verbal, video conferencing, written, onsite or offsite face-2-face meeting, etc.
- Design and lead projects using a wide range of analytical techniques, including: LC-MS/UV, GC-MS, FTIR, ICP, UV, conductivity, pH as appropriate; using internal analytical experts as required.
- Effectively communicate lifecycles to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Produce high quality work packages of work to meet customer requirements.
- Subject to SME background; Generate, process, authorise, review and approve analytical data.
- Subject to SME background; support regulatory submissions and/or risk assessments
- Ensure all agreed targets are met on time, within budget and to the required quality standards for both internal and external clients / contacts.
- Preserve and enhance your SME status by keeping abreast of current scientific advancements relevant to the business and develop your own knowledge in the field of E&L.
- Support and deliver technical presentation / papers to internal and external audience, including workshops, conferences, etc. that may include international travel.
- Support marketing initiatives, to support Smithers growth.
- Support analytical staff and management with laboratory operations as required.
- To provide project updates to customers and /or project managers throughout the project as agreed.
- Ensures that studies meet current regulatory requirements
- Maintain, strengthen and expand upon your customer relationships as an SME and for Smithers as a whole.
- Supporting and coaching of other members of the department and business.
- Ensure all project files are efficiently managed and archived in accordance with applicable SOPs.
