**Job Purpose**:

To coordinate and manage NERC’s Sustainable Mineral Resources in the Philippines (SMRP) Research Programme between project PAMANA (Philippine Mining at the National to Catchment Scale - from Legacy Impacts to Sustainable Futures; led by the University of Glasgow and the University of the Philippines - Los Banos) and PROMT (Philippines Remediation of Mine Tailings; led by Leicester University and the University of Philippines - Diliman). This role is based at the University of Glasgow but will require international travel to the Philippines on at least two occasions during the contract.

**Main Duties & Responsibilities**
1. To deliver effective operational support for the management and administration of a Research Programme Coordination and Management Plan including management of project milestones and deliverables across academic, industrial partners and collaborators, in the UK and internationally, to ensure successful completion of the project.
2. To organise the network of academic and industrial partners and establish new partners where necessary by being the first point of contact for funders and external partners.
3. To coordinate and implement the project coordination and integration, and knowledge exchange and impact plans.
4. Establish and maintain appropriate links, to ensure the successful flow of information and strong relationships with project colleagues, internal departments and Colleges, internal and external stakeholders, academic partners and industry partners, in the UK, the Philippines and elsewhere.
5. Be an active member at specific project management meetings / committees, acting as the liaison officer communicating and coordinating activities between committees, other stakeholders, and the Principal Investigators.
6. Coordinate start-up, regular project review meetings including in-person mid-term review in Manila, the Philippines (May 2023), project finale event in Manila, the Philippines (September 2024), and project closure.
7. To provide advice and support for all queries relating to the research project and support Principal Investigator for any escalated queries.
8. Monitor and manage the allocation and spend of budgets.
9. To provide management information, forecasting and analysis to support project, school, college and university requirements.
10. Support PI with the creation and maintenance of the project risk register, GANTT chart, Action Logs etc in support of the overall project(s).
12. To support the management of knowledge created by the project(s) and development of the impact and innovation pipeline related to the project(s).
13. Liaise with other departments, as appropriate.
14. Undertake any other relevant project management support duties as required.

**Essential**:

A1 Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills through personal development and progression in a similar related role(s). Or: Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 8 (Scottish Vocational Qualification level 4, Higher National Diploma) or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role.
A2 Knowledge and understanding of data integrity and its importance

**Desirable**:

B1 Knowledge of the Higher Education research environment and large-scale research grant management
B3 Knowledge of administrative and support service, and their process design, systematic process improvement and monitoring.
