Band 7 - Highly specialised Nurse - Intestinal Failure Outreach service

We are looking for a highly motivated specialist nurse to lead the Intestinal failure outreach service. Previous experience working in the field of Intestinal failure is essential and you must be able to demonstrate a proven clinical ability as a Band 6 or above and have the leadership capability in achieving the Trust goals and values.

The Intestinal failure unit is a national reference centre (NRC) managing patients with intestinal failure. The IFU receives referrals nationally and internationally is located at Salford Royal and is a centre of excellence,

The post holder will support and lead a team of nurses in the delivery of evidence based patient centred care, which is of a high standard.

You will be responsible for ensuring all care is delivered according to Trust policies and procedures maintaining associated records.

You will utilising clinical audit, research, supervision of practice and teaching, and monitor and improve standards of care by efficient and effective use of resources.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills to facilitate patient and staff education.

A previous team leadership role is essential and a keen interest in nutrition.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.
