About the role

**Hear from the Hiring Manager**
- “My team is made up of experienced and skilled team players that excel at working in a niche area of the nuclear industry. I would like to welcome an individual that can bring their knowledge, experience and skills from the nuclear sector or another industry or sector and transfer them to further develop and enhance our safe delivery of the Magnox mission. We work a rotating 12 hour shift pattern of day and night shift comprising of 07.00-19.00 & 19.00-07.00 Monday to Friday over a 3 week cycle”._

**Key Deliverables**:

- Carry out decommissioning/waste/decontamination activities in a radioactive environment as directed.
- Carry out waste streaming, size reduction and packaging activities as directed.
- Operate powered equipment to facilitate decommissioning and waste tasks.
- Maintain records as required.
- Wear a variety of personal protective equipment and clothing.
- When requested cover the chargehand role during absences
- Support the effective deployment of company-wide policies, processes, systems and procedures ensuring that at all times the business remains compliant.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Able to use protective clothing and equipment (Essential)
- Possess an awareness of safe working practices (Essential)
- Able to work with minimum supervision (Essential)
- Level 2 NVQ in Nuclear Decommissioning (Desirable)
- Experience of operating forklift trucks, overhead cranes and lifting equipment (Desirable)
- Able to work to detailed instructions (Desirable)
- Computer literate (Desirable)
- Driving Licence (Desirable)

**Benefits Package**

- Flexible working - where possible.
- Equivalent of 25 days (185 hours) annual leave plus Public Holidays (59.2 hours per year) - option to buy or sell up to one week each year.
- Participation in Company Bonus Scheme (up to £4,500 per annum based on corporate objectives).
- Up to 13.5% employer pension contribution depending on individual contribution amount.
- Access to training and development through the company performance management arrangements, supporting you in maintaining your personal Continuous Professional Development.

**Additional Information**

Please be aware this role holder requires security clearance, or the ability to obtain said clearance.

There is a requirement to live within a commutable distance to the sites where the role is based. For central/multi-site roles, we have various hubs across the UK and can be flexible with base location.
