We are seeking to appoint an experienced and highly skilled individual to provide a first-class and proficient service in this senior role as an Executive Assistant to the Director of the Genomic Surveillance Unit (GSU).

About the Role

You will deliver a seamless, strategically focused, professional administrative service to the Director of the GSU and Senior Leadership Team (SLT), ensuring a coordinated and streamlined administrative function that supports the delivery, aims and objectives of the GSU and teams within it.

You will line-manage the GSU administration team, including recruitment, development and performance management, providing direction and supervision to ensure that all administrative processes are managed effectively and efficiently.

To be considered for this senior-level role, you must have strategic awareness as well as strong experience with supporting executives and external relationships at a deep level.

Please note - at the institute, this role is referred to as an 'Executive Assistant'.

About You

To excel in this role, you will:
- Have extensive experience in providing high-quality support at a senior executive assistant level.- Be a highly organised, efficient, self-motivated, strategic thinker who is able to work independently in a dynamic environment with flexibility, adjusting to varying priorities and finding solutions to challenges that arise.- Have experience in developing and maintaining strategic relationships and be comfortable working in a confidential environment, building effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority.- Be professional, with strong personal drive, trustworthiness and the ability to work collaboratively.

Essential Skills- Experience of providing full administrative support at an excellent level including managing complex diaries and inboxes, compilation of correspondence, calendar administration- Experience of influencing and decision-making at a senior level informed by strategic drivers- Building and maintaining effective professional relationships in a research setting- Highly developed communication skills with experience of interacting effectively with people at all levels, cultures and backgrounds- Have a high level of resilience and a proven capability of dealing with sensitive information and upholding absolute confidentiality- Experience of successfully managing an administrative team and developing staff- Have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence as required- Ability to put forward and champion other’s viewpoints and provide clarity on specific requirements- Ability to work independently and in a team setting- Working collaboratively and/or troubleshooting issues- High level of presentation, influencing and negotiating skills- Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise and schedule own work effectively with a record of success in working in a constantly changing environment with the ability to deliver effectively

Other information:
**Salary**: £48,000 - £57,500
