The Accounts assistant will provide support in all areas of accounting, including sales ledger, purchase ledger, general accounting, and payroll.

The Accounts assistant will support the Finance team to achieve the highest standards in all accounting areas, processing journals for credit/purchase card transactions, cash transactions, sales invoices, purchase ledger invoices and helping with payrollprocessing.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Processing sales ledger journals for direct payments
- Submit invoices on customer portals
- Reconcile invoices
- Assist with purchase ledger transactions and cash transactions
- Supporting the Payroll Manager with time sheets at busy times
- Maintaining spreadsheets for the department
- Manage petty cash
- Keeping track of expenses as they relate to specific projects and jobs
- Enter and code financial transactions appropriately
- Check all financial transactions ensuring accuracy
- Key data into company accounting system
- Preparing and entering journals into the system
- Take care of administrative tasks, such as correspondence, filing and printing
- Maintaining accurate and detailed customer records and creating new customer accounts
- Supporting the preparation of management accounts and month-end duties
