Home-Start offers a unique service. We recruit and train volunteers, to visit families at home and offer them informal, friendly and confidential support. The families we help have at least one child under 12.

To help give children the best possible start in life, Home-Start supports parents as they grow in confidence, strengthen their relationship with their children and widen their links with the local community.

Volunteers play a vital part of the Home-Start in Suffolk work force; recruiting the right people and investing in them is key to our success as a third sector organisation.

The Volunteer Recruitment and Training Coordinator will be proactive in seeking opportunities to recruit new volunteers throughout the Waveney area to provide home-visiting, telephone, group or project support to

families. You will work with the Volunteer Recruitment Manager providing high quality recruitment processes and organising training which enables the delivery of quality support to families in line with operating principles and our Home-Start values and competencies

We are looking to recruit a Volunteer Recruitment and Training Coordinator, with a positive, “can do” attitude, who is approachable, and can confidently build relationships with volunteers and other agencies. The right person will be able to identify new opportunities to recruit volunteers from a range of backgrounds and experiences.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-GENERAL**
- Be a role model for volunteers and present a positive “can do” attitude
- Take personal responsibility for own actions
- Commit to a culture of continuous improvement
- Help to create a warm, inclusive training environment, which reflects diverse needs
- Work within the values and ethos of Home-Start in Suffolk
- Represent Home-Start in Suffolk positively and effectively in all dealings with internal colleagues, and external partners
- Comply with all policies and procedures, with reference to safeguarding, codes of conduct, health and safety and equality and diversity to ensure all activities are accessible
- To be alert to issues of safeguarding and child protection, ensuring the welfare and safety of Home-Start in Suffolk users, volunteers and staff is promoted and safeguarded, and to report any child protection concerns to the designated Child Protection Officers using the safeguarding policies, procedures, and practice (training to be provided)
- To assist with any promotional activities and visits that take place in relation to our work

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-SPECIFIC**
- To take a proactive role in the recruitment of volunteers across the county, with particular focus on the Waveney area.
- To build relationships with external groups and organisations to increase opportunities to attend events or give presentations to promote volunteer recruitment.
- To research and attend events or visit organisations to represent Home-Start and recruit volunteers.
- To work with the management team and Waveney based staff to promote the recruitment of volunteers effectively and creatively from diverse communities, whilst demonstrating an awareness of Home-Start volunteer recruitment policies
- Demonstrate an understanding of the issues and needs of diverse groups, and a willingness to expand this knowledge to integrate to other sectors of minority communities effectively.
- Support the recruitment, screening, training/induction and ongoing development of a diverse group of volunteers inline with Home-Start's policies and procedures.
- To keep accurate volunteer records and, using our existing systems, to keep a database of volunteers.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 36 months

Pay: £7,945.00 per year
