As a Team Leader you will be responsible for leading, directing, deploying & supporting a team of support workers to assist in the provision of a range of social, emotional, educational, physical & spiritual life skill experiences of people who are LearningDisabled and/or have Autistic Spectrum Condition.
You will be working 39 hours per week (inclusive of office hours) plus sleep-in duties, overtime & on-calls as required. Key Responsibilities: The key responsibilities of a Team Leader include, but are not limited to:

- The Team Leader is immediately accountable to the Area Team Leader/or Registered Manager.
- Supported by an Asst Team Leader, where the need arises.
- Managing a staff team from grade 1 support workers to Asst Team Leaders.
- The assessment, planning, implementation & co-ordination of individual packages of support and activities according to the needs of the person supported.
- The development and implementation of management strategies, individual behavioural interventions, risk assessments & management plans and therapeutic developmental programs.
- Responsible for compiling and managing the house rotas.
- Identify the attributes required for your team. Be involved in the recruitment & selection process and induct new staff.
- Maintaining and developing positive relationships with the families, friends and advocates for both the people we support and as an organisation as a whole.
- To ensure that all the required paperwork is clearly and accurately completed. This includes ensuring that all official forms and documentation are completed within an agreed time frame.
- Keep accurate details of medication prescribed and administered.
- Ensure that all fire, health and safety procedures and checks are carried out and recorded and where appropriate they are reported to the appropriate person & an action plan is carried through.
- To work flexibly and as directed to meet the needs of the service.
- To participate in any outdoor activities, such as horse-riding, hiking, orienteering and canal cruising and others as required.

The Person The key skills and qualities of a Team Leader are:

- A management qualification and PBS diploma or an equivalent qualification is desirable.
- Willing to work overtime, holidays and weekends as requested by the Manager.
- Experience of working as an Assistant / Team Leader or equivalent role for 12 months
- A full manual UK driving licence.
- Experience of facilitating independence, supported living within the learning disability field
- A sound knowledge of the following: Health & Social Care Act, Person Centred Planning, Health Action Planning, Positive Behavioural Support
- (PBS) The Care Quality Commission, Health & Safety at Work, Confidentiality, Policies and procedures, Investors in People and an awareness of local and national legislation and policy drivers
- To have knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Deprivation of Liberties Safeguarding and how this legislation impacts on the assessment & design of the support package for the people we support and their responsibilities within this area.
