**Main purpose of the role**:

- As a member of the SLT, support the Deputy Principal in managing, leading and developing the education provision in delivering our trauma and mental health informed approach to learning and personal development, embedding high expectations and demonstrating progress in learning, behaviour and social development of our young people.
- Managing resources, including human resources, in an effective and efficient manner.
- Line manage and develop staff.

**Principal Responsibilities**:

- To play an active role in the strategic and operational development of the education provision, staff and curricular to support the organisation’s aims of creating an innovative and positive learning and wellbeing environment for children and young people with SEMH.
- To ensure that all assessments are completed and, along with the EHCP, informs the individual timetable.
- To ensure that all aspects of the provision are delivered to young people and targeted interventions are in place to support learning and personal development.

**Main Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Co-ordinate the updating of assessment data in Evidence for Learning so that progress and achievement for each C&YP is tracked, evidenced and explicit.
- Teaches across provisions, championing innovation, inclusion, differentiation, robust assessment and monitoring of progress in every session.
- Undertake regular CPD and attend regular supervision with the Deputy Principal, on an agreed basis.
- Develop liaison with parent schools, local authorities, parents and carers (as appropriate), including sharing information on students’ learning and progress.
- Ensure that appropriate interventions are identified, delivered, monitored and evaluated to support progress and development
- Teach across curricular areas with a focus on improving functional skills as well as developing prosocial attitudes, using a variety of teaching resources and approaches that are appropriate for the individual learners across provisions championing innovation, inclusion, differentiation, robust assessment and monitoring of progress in every session
- Role model to the wider team to encourage learning and to value students’ work, giving positive and developmental feedback. Actively contribute to learning and development plans.

- Take a lead in developing and mentoring teaching and support staff, including TA’s & NQT’s, to enable them to maintain a good quality of education and deal with the demands of educating young people with SEMH needs.
- Take a lead role in articulating and delivering thhealth-informedrauma and mental health informed ethos and values, to support young people with SEMH to access learning and social development.
- Be a compassionate professional who always operates within agreed legal, ethical and professional boundaries when working with young people and ensures that this is embedded within the education and wellbeing provision. This includes maintaining care, confidentiality and respect and following all policies and procedures.
- Work as part of a team carrying out a full range of duties to oversee the smooth and safe running of the provision as directed by the Senior Leadership Team.
- Deputise day-to-dayof the Deputy Principal, in day to day responsibilities and with partner and external agencies.
- Work with colleagues, including the finance, facilities and wellbeing teams and allocate/deploy resources, including human resources, in a way that ensures that value for money is achieved.
