Are you passionate about supporting families with the guidance and support they need to live within the community and thrive as a family? We are now recruiting for a Night Care Worker to join our new and innovative National Specialist Family Residential Service based in Saltcoats, North Ayrshire. The service provides a range of support for parents and their children in a residential setting for example drug and/or alcohol recovery support, parenting, personal development, and health & well-being.

**The Role**

As a Night Care Worker your role is to provide cover to the service at night, ensuring the support and safety of the residents and the building. You will be responsible for monitoring and controlling access to the site, dealing with emergencies, and communicating any concerns or events to the manager on call and the rest of the team. As well as helping to facilitate evening time activities and interventions.

You will have good communication skills with the ability to respond and interact with residents and colleagues. You will also have experience in administrative procedures and maintain clear, accurate records.

Previous experience is desirable, however not essential. Care Workers come from many different backgrounds and experiences, and you may have the skills required. We are seeking dedicated individuals, based on your values, willingness to learn new skills and the compassion to deliver the best service possible to our residents.

**About You**

This is a crucial role within our Specialist Family Residential Service and would be ideal for people who are looking to develop their career in the sector. Above all, we are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals with a desire to support people to transform their lives.

You will be reliable with the ability to be **awake** and alert at all times during your shift. You may be working alone, and you will be required to act with integrity and use your initiative, staying calm in the event of an emergency.

Flexibility is required, as you will be working a night shift rota that includes weekends and public holidays. There will also be opportunity for you to attend training and participate in team meetings, events, and supervisions, which will usually be held during the day. Further details and questions about shift rotas can be discussed later in the recruitment process.

Part time position, working 26hr, on average, per week, during 5 weeks rolling rota.
- Experience of working with parents/families and children.
- Knowledge of child protection issues and reporting processes.
- Ability to assist/provide guidance and support surrounding effective parenting.
- S/NVQ 3 in Care or equivalent, or able to complete an agreed number of modules within their probationary period.
- Experience of working with people who use drugs and/or alcohol.
- Experience of working in a residential setting.
- Knowledge of therapeutic communities.
- Relevant experience of work in the field of substance use or other comparable field.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Other requirements_
- No criminal record that prevents work with our client group or which would harm our reputation.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word and familiar with relevant database management systems
- Ability to work rota pattern, including nights and week ends.
- Ability to travel.
