I am recruiting on behalf of an international business based in Newmarket, who are seeking to recruit an interim Group Financial Controller on a 6-month, fixed term contract.
Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a newly created role and is required to support the Finance Director with the day to day running of the finance function.
The Group Financial Controller will be responsible for managing three direct reports.
Duties include;
- Financial and Management Accounting
- Reduce time taken for production of accounts and other reporting to allow more time for insight and value-add in the finance team
- Develop reporting formats and summaries which are consistent across group entities to facilitate more efficient consolidation and better understanding
- Enable greater detailed data capture that will inform reporting and analysis
- Develop and report performance metrics relevant to strategic goals
- Budgets and Forecasts
- Implement timetables across the group to ensure time to review and influence budgets and forecasts at entity level and group level
- Ensure consistent summaries are produced both at entity and group level to aid stakeholder review
- Transfer Pricing & Intra Group Management Charging
- Devise consistent recharge methodology across group companies, commercially suitable and compliant with tax legislation
- Statutory Reporting & External Audit
- Ensure all audits are progressed in a timely and accurate manner
- Liaise with auditors as primary point of contact for the group
- Stakeholder Management
- Ensure CEO and FD have all information necessary, communicated in an appropriate format, to manage the board, investors and bank in a timely manner
- Taxation
- Ensure all taxation matters are understood and reported upon correctly, in a timely manner
- Treasury
- Ensure adequate funding in all territories
- Provide comfort over cash availability and covenant headroom
- Develop existing foreign currency hedging processes to manage exchange rate risks
- Drive financial controls, systems and processes enhancement
- Undertake ad hoc due diligence as required by the FD
The role is offered on a hybrid basis, with 3 days working in the office and 2 from home.
