**Job description**:
The purpose of this role is to oversee all of the divisional operations and provide effective operational management to deliver the efficient operation of the Government Car Service (GCS).

The Joint Head of Operations role is to manage the provision of the secure Departmental Pool Car Service to UK Government Ministers and senior officials by offering an exceptional level of customer service; and maintaining high standard of service delivery and direction.

You will have direct line management responsibility for the Operations Manager, Workshop Manager and Fleet manager. You will be expected to act as a role model across the organisation and as part of the small senior management team provide leadership across the whole team, including drivers, operations and workshops.

**_ Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: _**
- GCS Business Continuity plan (maintenance and updating)
- PQ Correspondence
- H&S policy, upgrades and risk assessments
- Co-ordinate the GCS H&S protocols including overseeing the accident management of the vehicles
- Look for, and where required implement efficiencies, system improvements and work with the GCS & DfT colleagues to maintain and improve the GCS service offer
- Asset management & Fleet renewal/disposal - the ongoing replacement of the vehicle fleet in accordance with government policy
