**Global Resourcing Planning Lead**

**Pay Band: 8**

**Salary**:Starting £38,820 (+ £3,300 market allowance if based in London)

**Contract Type**:13-month fixed term contract (maternity cover)

**Location**: Manchester, London, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Belfast

**The role**

Join our vibrant Cultural Engagement team at the British Council We are seeking an experienced resource planning manager (maternity cover) to support the ongoing rollout, development and embedding of a new global workforce planning approach to help ensure we have the right people with the right skills at the right time.

In this role you will be engaging with stakeholders globally to lead specific aspects of the implementation and ongoing service provision of some new processes and tools. This will include developing guidance, managing resource forums, raising capability, driving compliance, developing data driven reports and continual improvement.

**Main Accountabilities**:

- Work closely with CE Head Global Resource Planning to manage the implementation and embedding of the key components of the CE workforce planning approach. These components are a planning tool; time logging; a capability profiling tool; reassignment mechanism; reporting and data insights.
- Ensure successful management of key business processes related to CE workforce planning, including annual staff planning exercise and quarterly updates.
- Develop relationships with key stakeholders to address challenges/opportunities within workforce planning related areas. Stakeholders include:

- corporate/professional service stakeholders including HR, Digital & Technology and Finance colleagues.
- CE regional operations, key regional end users\ champions
- Work closely with CE regional operations and sector leads to drive compliance, accuracy and consistency across all workforce planning components.
- Provide expert advice to internal customers and other stakeholders on all aspects of the workforce planning model and its software solution.
- Provide training, guidance and ongoing support in the ongoing embedding of the workforce planning approach.
- Provide formal line management for one colleague within the CE Operations team, actively managing performance and supporting their professional development.
- Provide cover for the Head of Global Resource planning during leave and other appropriate periods.

**Essential role specific requirements**
- Experience of resource planning in a complex organisation and working within a global team leading resource planning processes and associated tools.
- Record of capability building and effective stakeholder engagement in a variety of contexts
- Experience of using a data approach to derive insights and in creating reports for senior management that include recommendations
- Leadership and management
- Stakeholder engagement and Influencing
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Evidence based decision making and problem solving

**Desirable role specific requirements**
- Experience of project\programme management and an understanding of relevant approaches
- Experience of effectively managing people
- Expert practitioner in the use of Excel
