The Active Wellbeing Society (TAWS) is a community benefit society and cooperative working to develop healthy, happy communities living active and connected lives. Our vision is for a society where people have the autonomy, capacity, resources and skills to become the architects of their own destiny; where our individual wellbeing is recognised as being bound up in our collective responsibility to and dependency on each other; and where all of us feel empowered as agents of social change to make a difference - whether at an individual level or more widely.

The Active Wellbeing Society was developed out of the successful Wellbeing Service set up by Birmingham City Council in June 2015, it is a public service mutual. It has a track record of innovation, collaboration, citizen engagement and successful delivery, within the Council, and by going independent in 2018, TAWS was able to build on this foundation and unlock new sources of funding to support its further growth and development.

Since the new organisation began it has worked on a number of initiatives that specifically benefit young people and work with them to deliver further interventions. It is envisaged that this role will develop new services and interventions with young people, as well as manage and further develop some of the existing service provision for young people.

valuable work experience and our holiday activity delivery that we do every year, ensuring effective delivery of the outcomes. You will work closely with key partners ensuring that youth projects are integrated across the entire organisation. The role will also manage risk and overall budget for all youth projects and programmes. You will ensure there is a clear plan for delivery and lead on developing and integrating new projects for TAWS and partners across the country and in all elements of our work in the different service and support areas.
