*** Lead and manage a superb science department
This school are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Head of Science to lead their Science Department. As the Head of Science, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of science education within the school. You will lead a team of eight talented staff members, including two Early Career Teachers (ECTs), ensuring that the department delivers high-quality teaching and learning experiences for all students.
Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Science Department, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Develop and implement innovative and engaging schemes of work that are aligned with the National Curriculum and the school's ethos.
Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning within the department, implementing interventions where necessary to drive improvement.
Oversee the assessment and tracking of student progress, using data to inform decision-making and intervention strategies.
Foster strong relationships with parents, carers, and external stakeholders, promoting the importance of science education within the wider community.
Stay abreast of developments in science education, incorporating best practices and new methodologies into departmental planning and delivery.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant academic qualifications in a science-related field.
Previous leadership experience within a science department or similar role.
A commitment to promoting the highest standards of teaching and learning.
Knowledge of the National Curriculum and current educational initiatives in science.
