Ashford, United Kingdom Saga Full time

Job Introduction
*At Saga we work flexibly which means our colleagues have autonomy over where they work - at home or hybrid. This role has a small hybrid element which means that our team come together when we need to collaborate*

Right now, we are looking for a talented Senior Employee Relations Advisor (we call this role the People Partnership Lead) to join our team. Reporting to, and working closely with the Head of People Partnership, you will lead a team of three ER Advisors.

Within your day-to-day oversight of three ER Advisors you will ensure case work is managed consistently and within SLAs, offering advice and support where needed, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. As a senior member of the team you will have experience managing others and be able to engage, motivate and develop people.

Previous experience in an Employee Relations role is essential. We are a regulated business, and whilst experience in a similar environment would be ideal, it is not essential, although we would expect to see a track record in a similarly large complex corporate environment.

This role is fully hybrid. The team come together in person about once a month in London or our Kent hubs.

Main Responsibilities
- In conjunction with the Head of People Partnership, lead on legislative/ER matters
- Leading change programmes
- Providing support on papers required by Executive Leadership Team and Board
- Line management and development of team, providing opportunities to learn, gain experience and develop technical and broader skills
- Supporting policy and design, guidance documentation and toolkits, and the implementation of strategic initiatives
- People casework which typically includes more complex and sensitive cases with high risk to business including absence, disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance
- Coaching and supporting line managers and colleagues in a pro-active manner to resolve ER cases and related to colleague wellbeing
- Providing reporting and MI on all key processes appropriate for each audience, identifying hotspots and providing proactive solutions
- Champions of change, understanding the impact of change on themselves and others, to identify support as needed
- Focusing on driving ER operational efficiencies and boosting case handling productivity
- An intuitive and experienced manager with strong Employment Law knowledge
- Adaptable, calm, analytical and able to take a step back to see things in a more strategic business centred view
- Naturally empathetic; high care and colleague wellbeing is as important to you as it is to us.
- Able to embrace a methodical approach to problem solving
- Strong reputation and high effort in furthering trust and working as one team
- A natural curiosity to look beyond the ‘as is’ and explore new trends to seek out opportunities for how we can keep delivering better for colleagues.

Our Saga Values:

- Precision Pace - Always owning and making things happen.
- Empathy - Always aware of others.
- Curiosity - Always asking why.
- Collaboration - Always one team, the Saga team
