Due to the success and growth of our Buildings and Cities unit in Mott MacDonald’s Europe region (EUNA), we’re looking for an internal engagement and communication (IEC) officer to help us improve the way we connect and interact with our people.

This position supports our Buildings and Cities executive team, working with the marketing and communications lead to ensure that key messages, initiatives and campaigns are coordinated and impactful across our unit.

You will be responsible for building strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand requirements and support the unit’s priorities. You will help design and implement creative IEC strategies, campaigns and initiatives, working closely with senior stakeholders and our global and regional IEC teams to ensure our internal communication is engaging, informative and effective.

The role is open as either a part-time or full-time position and can be based in any of our UK offices.

While you will report into the Marketing and Communications Lead for the Buildings and Cities unit, you will also form part of the wider IEC network under the guidance of the EUNA IEC Manager and work alongside our marketing and graphic design teams.
- Key responsibilities include:_
- Helping to create a unit IEC plan to drive the Buildings and Cities business priorities
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand, identify, and advise on engagement opportunities and requirements
- Taking ownership for unit specific internal communications such as intranet stories, newsletters, and Teams Live events and other activities including sourcing images, quotes, approvals, and reviewing interviews, articles, and video content
- Identifying news, success stories, and thought leadership pieces for use internally and working with the marketing team to propose what can be utilised externally
- Monitoring feedback and reviewing metrics to measure the impact of our communications activities and helping present this in a creative format
- Working closely with regional IEC and marketing teams to repurpose group and regional campaigns, enabling maximum impact and return on investment
- Helping to drive standardisation and efficiency in processes, day-to-day working, collateral, working relationships, and communication plans via templates, best practice, and innovation
- Working closely with the regional IEC team in creating a community of IEC professionals to share best practice and innovation
- Be a brand champion; ensure all materials align with our brand guidelines and tone of voice
- Be a digital champion; review all proposed materials to ensure they meet the needs of the target audience while also aligning with our digital strategy
- Support a culture of creativity, storytelling, and ideation in the unit. #LI-NM1

**For this opportunity your experience is expected to include**:

- Editing and writing engaging and informative written communication and high-quality presentations
- Identifying key messages and translating information into accessible content
- Organising and hosting internal events - digitally and in-person
- Communicating effectively, proactively and collaboratively with different stakeholders, including executive, technical and creative teams
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Working independently and as part of a team (including virtual teams)
- Effective time management and prioritising responsibilities while working to deadlines and under pressure.

**If you can also offer these additional aspects, we are very interested in talking with you**:

- Foundation degree, HND, or degree in a communication or marketing area
- Qualification or certification from a relevant body such as IOIC or CIPR
- Emotional intelligence; ability to influence stakeholders in order to achieve the most effective outcomes
- Good knowledge of collaboration systems, e.g., Microsoft Teams, SharePoint
- Knowledge of video production
- Experience of monitoring, reporting, and evaluation
- A flexible approach to work which may involve flexible working hours and locations across the UK.

**Desirable competencies/skills**:

- Appreciation of the engineering and consultancy industries is advantageous.
