**Financial Reporting Specialist**

**Contract Type**:Permanent**

**Salary £34,938 - £41,103 per annum, depending on experience**

**About The Role**

We have an exciting, new opportunity to join our finance team as a Financial Reporting Support.

As a Financial Reporting Support you will be reporting to the Financial Reporting Specialist, and you'll ensure that Financial Reporting processes are fit for purpose and operated in a consistent and controlled way. Forming close relationships with teams across Cadent (Pensions, Tax, Controls, Management accounting) and/or External specialists (Auditors etc.), the role will take accountability for the preparation of specific elements of statutory and management reporting, and provide technical accounting advice to members of the wider Finance team.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Provide monthly Balance Sheet analysis including supporting the monthly balance sheet review meeting and the commentary for the management pack which will include the monthly Balance Sheet review and reconciliation processes ensuring accounts are reconciled to audit quality standard.
- Liaise with members of the finance team to gather information in support of Balance Sheet reconciliations and perform investigations into unusual balances.
- Prepare management accounts for holding companies (Quadgas Investment BidCo Limited and Quadgas TopCo Limited).
- Support the wider Financial Reporting team in the preparation of the quarterly, half yearly and annual reporting to stakeholders and statutory bodies, and support the external audit process for balance sheet items, resolving queries and issues raised by auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Maintain Accounting Policies and Manuals and provide expert accounting advice to all parts of the Business.
- Support and coach other members of the financial reporting team with specific activities whilst proactively building own knowledge of Financial Reporting and Treasury Reporting
- Support in documenting the end to end processes and contribute to maintaining controls documentation to a high standard.
- Contribute to the development of a highly motivated, innovative and customer-focused finance team. Support Managers in meeting/exceeding all relevant targets and strategic objectives within Finance.

**About You**
- Part Qualified Accountant actively studying with a UK recognised body or equivalent (e.g. ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
- Experience of Governance, risk and internal control frameworks
- Ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the business
- Skilled at reporting and analysis of financial information
- Skilled in the SAP / BPC / AFO
