**About The Role**

The purpose of the Cadent Gas Treasury Reporting Team is to support the Cadent Gas Board and the Cadent Gas Audit Committee by the provision of prompt, accurate and relevant treasury information to enable effective decision making. As part of this support, the Treasury Reporting Accountant will ensure that all statutory, regulatory and accounting relating to the Treasury function is delivered within the required deadlines, and that a robust control environment is maintained to ensure the reporting is accurate.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Assist with period end close for Treasury Reporting service; this includes posting month end journals, running reports, produce reconciliation and validation schedules and help draft board commentaries.
- Review treasury transactions for accurate accounting in the treasury management system and monthly financial reporting in SAP. Follow up and resolve queries post month end close and ensure robust management of controls.
- Support in delivering of internal management reporting and external reporting in respect of treasury function in the statutory accounts, regulatory accounts and other external outputs including covenant reporting.
- Support interactions with the auditors for the audit of the Finance companies and the corresponding disclosures including Cadent treasury disclosures.
- Maintain a close relationship with Treasury front end operations. In particular, co-ordinate the process for testing the treasury system and validating the reports and data generated before month close (test run) and during the actual month end close.
- As appropriate, support the delivery of change across Finance and the business, embracing new ways of working and owning delivery of key outcomes to drive the improvement of long-term business capability.
- Assist the high-quality documenting of end-to-end processes and controls to meet Regulatory compliance requirements. Ensure that governance and internal financial control over processes are robust and comply with Cadent Gas frameworks.
- Build own knowledge of Treasury and RIIO and its impact on the industry and the business in order to support key decisions and advise and guide own business area.

**About You**

**Qualifications**:

- The role requires a fully qualified accountant or equivalent degree (e.g. ACA, CIMA, ACCA)

Practical Experience
- Prior exposure to accounting system (SAP)
- Reporting information and accounting and reporting pronouncements with understanding of governance, risk and internal control frameworks
- Stakeholder Management - enduring processes, activities and behaviours that lead to effective engagement with our stakeholders; the purpose of which is to build trust in order to achieve outcomes that are understood by all parties.
- Able to clearly communicate to senior management on complex technical matters. Good presentations skills and skills in report writing.
- Ability to manage risk, understand in-depth financial information and have commercial acumen that can be used to make meaningful insights to drive business growth in a safe and transparent environment.
- An understanding of the commercial and risk impact of any actions and the appropriate business recommendations related to these, and an understanding of who the real decision makers are, and how this impacts on getting things done.
