**About the role**:
**The function of the role will be to support the Risk Managers in the effective management and analysis of functional/operational and change (projects and programme) risks across the organisation and to provide support to the Head of Enterprise Risk.This role will collaborate closely with other members of the team, those within the Risk, Compliance & Assurance Directorate and across the organisation.**
**Key responsibilities**
**As the Risk Officer, you will be responsible for the following**:
- Routinely obtain up-dates from risk owners on risks and mitigating actions using the most effective channel of communication
- Support the Risk Managers in producing analytical reports in response to the needs of the organisation
- Review and draw upon existing MI to inform risk reporting providing transparency on where the organisation is operating relevant to risk appetite
- Support the Risk Manager with analysis and insight of the organisational risk profile
- Support Risk Managers by conducting initial reviews of business cases to ensure risks identified are appropriate and have sufficient mitigation strategies
- Develop and maintain the process for collating a suite of Key Risk Indicators for regular board and committee reporting
- Develop and maintain the processes, systems, and tools to enable the effective analysis of both existing and emerging risks to the organisation
- Support the Risk Managers in facilitating risk workshops at all levels
- Identify opportunities for synergy between the risk management software solution and data bases to stream-line reporting.
- Train and support colleagues on the risk management software solution
- Maintain the audit recommendations tracker ensuring implementation and completion of identified recommendations to time
- Collate evidence relating to actions / recommendations as required by the internal auditors to support sign off
- Ensure the timely production of business-critical reports and insight for both regular and ad-hoc for use by senior management team and executive committees
- Develop and maintain the processes for the Risk, Compliance & Assurance MI Pack for Board and Committee reporting
**Essential skills and experience**
**It is essential for Risk Officer to demonstrate the following skills and experience**:
- Proven experience of risk management processes and practices.
- Ability to take a holistic view of the organisation and with a good understanding of business drivers to inform risk and opportunity management
- Ability to analyse complex data, identify key insights, draw conclusions, produce reports and make recommendations to management in relation to risk appetite
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proven strong prioritisation and planning skills.
- Ability to develop systems and processes to support the changing needs of the organisation
- Good facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and stakeholder management skills at all levels
- Ability to work collaboratively both within a small team and with colleagues across the organisation
- Ability to upskill colleagues to be self-sufficient on the functionality of software
- Good understanding of the Three Lines of Defence model
