To undertake research dedicated to working within the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), of information held on police systems and assess the information against the Quality Assurance Framework (QAF) for proposed disclosure, in order to protect children and vulnerable adults. Ensure that activity supports the delivery of the Force Service Level Agreement between the Force and the Disclosure and Barring Service. To provide support to the DBS Quality Assurance Officer and DBS Supervisors as required.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:

**To prioritise and manage own workload in accordance with the DBS Service Level Agreement.
- **
**To undertake DBS QAF functions in relation to conflicts, Police National Computer (PNC) information and local information.
- **

**To compose a rationale and proposed disclosure text of a high standard meeting the requirements of the DBS compliance standards.
- **
**To input all accurate and relevant data onto the DBS database.
- **
- **
**To manage the Representations Process, compiling letters to the applicant to include the potential disclosure of information and consider the response with regards to whether the Representations made will affect the final decision to disclose, or whether amendments are required to the potential disclosure text.

**To identify duplicate and/or inaccurate records during research and make the necessary changes.
- **
**To support the DBS Quality Assurance Officer with tasks related to Barring, elimination fingerprints and routine Quality Assurance.
- **
**To provide guidance and support to staff within the unit in relation to procedures and decision making with regards to the relevance of information.
- **
**To ensure that all disclosure rationales are compliant with regards to QAF and DBS Disclosure Guidance.
- **
**To ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018.
- **
**Any other duties or tasks as required within the scope of the role.
