**Overview**
**About the role**
- Ensuring the highest level of customer care and developing and enhancing a working culture based on quality, thereby contributing to quality and service improvement initiatives
- Providing advice and answering queries on all HR areas including but not limited to maternity queries, resourcing, payroll issues and employee relations matters whilst understanding when a matter requires escalation to a specialist team
- Championing exemplary customer service with the wider HR Department
- Managing workloads (self and others) in accordance with agreed triage methods, standards, processes, procedures, and all relevant legislation and to contribute to ensuring the delivery of a service in accordance with agreed specifications and timetables
- Working closely with other HR teams including Business Partners, Policy & Reward, Resourcing and Employee Relations to ensure processes and policies are followed continuously and accurate advice/guidance is provided to customers
- Working with the HR Service Desk Manager to research and develop model answers for complex or frequent queries to ensure accurate and consistent guidance is delivered by all
- Participating in knowledge sharing sessions with other teams, constantly improving the knowledge of the HR Service Desk in order that more of the queries can be resolved as a 'first line fix'
- Undertaking general SAP system administrative activities as directed
- Ensuring the requirements of current Data Protection legislation, specifically in relation to the handling of personal data and sensitive information, are fully considered in all work undertaken
- Ensuring that all security procedures and standards relating to data, systems and internet usage are adhered to
This is a temporary position for 4 months, though there is potential for this to be extended further. The pay rate is £11.81 per hour, and you will be working full time, 35 hours per week. Buckinghamshire Council are working on a hybrid basis where you willwork remotely for 3-4 days per week and in the office 1-2 days per week.
The Aylesbury office is conveniently situated in the town centre (HP20 area) with great transport links including a local train station and excellent road connections to the M25, M1, M4 and M40.
**About you**
- Experience of working in a HR Service Desk/Help Desk environment
- A proven track record in understanding and recording customer requirements
- Experience of handling HR queries
- Relevant practical experience working as part of a team to meet service standards, targets and deadlines
- Numerate and accurate with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Good planning and organisational skills, with proven ability to prioritise workloads and achieve deadlines
