Adoption West is a regional adoption agency and registered voluntary adoption agency that provides adoption services for Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol, Gloucestershire, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Councils. Adoption West operates out of 3 hubs across the region, with offices based in Bristol, Gloucester and Trowbridge.

This is an exciting time for you to join Adoption West covering a maternity vacancy that provides a central role in improving performance and developing innovative best practice. We are looking to recruit a business support officer to lead our administration functions and improve business processes.

You can be based in any of our three hub offices, Bristol, Gloucester or Trowbridge. You will need to be able to travel around the region and so must be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle.

The post will report to the Business Manager.

**Salary: £27,344 - £29,439**

**What will you be doing?**
- supervise a dispersed team of business support employees providing advice, guidance and support.
- oversight of a full range of administrative support services to colleagues and ensure administrative procedures are followed and standards maintained.
- developing and maintaining systems / spreadsheets as appropriate to aid budget monitoring processes and the production of accurate financial records.
- improvement and maintenance of the case management system and other software systems to ensure the accurate recording of data by overseeing data inputting, identifying and resolving issues.
- support senior level meetings including the Board of Directors, producing accurate notes and undertaking all associated duties.

**What we need from you**:

- NVQ Level 4 in Administration or equivalent - including English at Grade C or above.
- Word processing qualification or equivalent IT qualifications.
- Previous general office management experience, within a large and complex organization.
- Experience of operating financial processes, e.g. accounting systems, invoices and budget spreadsheets.
- Ability to communicate with and relate to members of the public and professional staff, either face-to-face or via the telephone.
- Ability to work autonomously and provide direction to administrative support officers.
- Able to work as a member of a team and to contribute to the effectiveness of the service.
- Able to be flexible and fully responsive to competing demands on a daily basis, prioritising own workload accordingly.
