Blyth, United Kingdom Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust are currently recruiting for a motivated and passionate Mental Health Practitioner to join their H.O.P.E (Help to Overcome Personal and Emotional Difficulties) team in Northumberland.

The H.O.P.E team offer evidence-based treatment to service users across the county who have emotional and relational difficulties.

The nature of this post requires suitable applicants to be highly motivated, enthusiastic and well organised. Applicants should be experienced in delivering group interventions, have excellent communication skills, sound clinical assessment and risk management skills and a commitment to multi-disciplinary working.

The main duties of the role involve providing one to one assessments, therapy, and group interventions; through a combination of face-to-face appointments and online videos calls. The team is a new service and presents an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and expanding team based in Blythe and delivering interventions at community venues across Northumberland. The team has been co-developed alongside people with lived experience of mental health services.

You will receive regular supervision and the chance to engage in ongoing continuing professional development, including the opportunity to use approaches based on dialectic behaviour therapy, mentalisation based therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy and family therapy. In this role you will work as part of an MDT, alongside a variety of other professionals including a family therapist and consultant clinical psychologist. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic and motivated to make a difference to the lives of people who struggle with emotional and relational problems, often underpinned by early trauma.

We aim to attract and retain a diverse, talented and committed workforce, who are caring and compassionate, and therefore able to meet the demands of the modern NHS now and in the future. In return we can offer a dynamic working environment in which to build a career.
