Support the Head of Nursing in providing the strategic direction for the Directorate Nursing service. Undertake a lead role in designated directorate projects or programmes of work. Responsible for ensuring the delivery of the BCUHB Nursing Strategy.

Responsible and accountable for the planning, organising, management and the delivery of high quality, safe and effective Nursing services, ensuring they are evidence based and measurable (metrics).

Provide expertise and strong professional leadership for areas of responsibility having direct clinical involvement and extensive knowledge of aligned Acute Medical / Surgical Specialities.

Responsible and accountable for ensuring the quality of nursing care delivered within areas of responsibility is of the highest standard, meeting Directorate, Organisational and National Policies, and N.M.C. Code of Practice, professional standards and guidance.

Responsible and accountable for managing and balancing the nursing budget across all areas of responsibility, whilst maintaining quality and safety of nursing care and delivering financial governance.

Responsible for managing nursing concerns/complaints across all areas of responsibility ensuring robust mechanisms are in place for the investigation, monitoring and corrective action.

Part of the Health Boards ‘Bronze’ duty manager on call rota’ out of office hours.

The Medical Directorate at Ysbyty Gwynedd is looking to recruit a forward thinking, innovative Senior Nurse to join our Acute Site Head of Nursing, Acute Matrons and Directorate Operational Management Team as Deputy Head of Nursing. If you are committed to giving high standards of patient care, have a strong focus on patient quality & safety, can work flexibly to lead your team and have senior nurse experience we really want to hear from you.

The Medical Directorate covers a wide variety of specialities including Cardiology, Coronary Care, Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Renal, Renal units, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Care of the Older Person, Stroke, Endoscopy and Patient flow.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
