Impact is at the heart of our research activities at Warwick. Through our research, we aim to contribute to society and improve the lives of people across the world, from enhancing global economic performance to improving the delivery of public services, health and wellbeing. The University is seeking a Research Impact Coordinator to join our established Research Impact Team within Research & Impact Services. The post will provide support for the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Medicine, with particular responsibility for Warwick Medical School, Life Sciences, Psychology, Mathematics and Statistics.

Engaging directly with academic researchers on a regular basis, you will work across a broad range of research projects and contribute to maximising, showcasing and recording their impact on society and the economy. A priority of the role will be to support the programme management of the University’s Impact Acceleration Accounts and other institutional awards which enable impact from research. The post will also contribute to development of strong and evidenced case studies which demonstrate the impact of our research to Research England and other key funders.

You will be a highly organised individual with excellent attention to detail and interpersonal skills. This is a varied role, offering the opportunity to develop your existing skills in multiple areas, including writing, communications and data management. You will also have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge and understanding of research and the ways in which it can contribute to society and the economy.

**JOB PURPOSE**

The Research Impact Coordinator will provide expert practitioner advice and support to the delivery of Research Impact at the University of Warwick. This postholder will provide technical advice and guidance to researchers within the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Medicine, with particular responsibility for Warwick Medical School, Life Sciences, Psychology, Mathematics and Statistics with regards to the recognition, evidencing and collation of research impact related data, with a view to ensuring the University presents as strong a case as possible to Research England, Research Councils, industry partners, charities, and other key funders of Research and Impact at Warwick. The postholder will also advise and support the production of Impact-related events, communications and publications involving external partners and stakeholders.

A key requirement of the role is the ability to recognise the potential breadth and significance of research outputs from disciplines across the Faculty and to support the academy to both showcase and increase the benefit of this research, to society, the economy and the environment. The post will provide critical administrative support for the University’s translational awards and impact acceleration accounts. The post holder will therefore be expected to engage on a one-to-one basis with senior academics and colleagues in the wider Research & Impact Services Team, to develop future plans for the support of Research Impact and to co-ordinate the development of a strong, and evidenced, pipeline of Research Impact case studies.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. Advise academic researchers from across the Faculty on the potential non-academic impact of their research, and subsequently to support Impact data capture, including the collection and recording of robust Impact evidence that will withstand scrutiny of Research England, Research Councils, charities, and industry partners;
2. Lead on the delivery of desk-based research to demonstrate the relevance of potential Impact from research at Warwick, with a view to following through the potential Impact to evidence its potential breadth and significance in terms of the change/improvements it facilitates and the numbers and/or types of people or organisations that it affects;
3. Provide pre and post-award programme administration for translational awards.

4. Be responsible for the co-ordination of the Faculty’s Impact data collation systems, working to ensure that Impact is recognised, captured and evidenced in an iterative fashion, working in this regard directly to the Research Impact Mangers and the academic departmental Impact Directors, and seeking external advice when required and appropriate to do so;
5. Develop and maintain the internal and external Faculty Impact pages, including the writing of engaging Impact stories, developing training materials for the Faculty Research Impact resource bank and updating Impact training webpages;
