Main Duties

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work across our sites in Bedford and Luton. You will be an organised, efficient and motivated individual who is able to combine excellent communication and analytical skills to support clinical Information and Data Quality reporting across the organisation. You should be flexible and adaptable within your work role to support the team in all aspects of Clinical Information and Data Quality Reporting.

The post holder requires a strong problem-solving skill set and possess project management experience to assume lead responsibility on key information development projects. They must be able to draw conclusions from analysis undertaken and be able to communicate often complex and sensitive information issues to a wide-range of audiences to propose and implement new working practice. Using their expert interpersonal skills to motivate, encourage, negotiate with, and influence others, on sometimes-controversial and complex environments to drive change.

The post holder will need to work unsupervised using their initiative and skills gained through experience in order to ensure effective and efficient use of time to manage their own workload as well as those they are responsible for managing.

The post holder will be required to travel across all sites for the purpose of meetings, training and staff cover.

1. To improve the quality and reliability of information stored on electronic clinical information systems as a key resource in the management and improvement of patient care.

1. The post holder will be required to directly support the Head of Clinical information and Data Quality to plan and manage the delivery of the Information service, assisting with the monitoring and reconciliation of the departmental staffing establishment. They will also be required to deputise for them in meetings in their absence.

1. To be responsible for the management, recruitment and development of the Clinical Information and Data Quality team across Bedfordshire Hospitals Foundations Trust. Provide personal mentoring to staff in relation to work, training and issues affecting their performance at work. Ensure electronic rosters, one to ones and appraisals are completed and individual development plans are in place for all members of the team to ensure they are delivering against targets.

1. To provide cover and support to colleagues in the wider Information and Performance directorate as and when required under the direction of the Head of Clinical Information and Data Quality.

1. To work without supervision to plan and manage your individual and team workload, allocating work to yourself and those you line manage to achieve the agreed objectives.

1. Adhere to and champion team working practices ensuring processes exist for effective communication with all staff and that staff involvement in decision-making is positively encouraged. To model a collaborative and influencing style of working, negotiating with others to achieve the best outcomes and embedding this approach across the team.
