Clinical Education Lead for Children's and Neonatal

Main Duties and Responsibilities Communication To build relationships with members of the multi-disciplinary team and practice development in the implementation of changes in practice. To represent the Practice Development Team and the Trust at meetings with partner agencies both internal and external. Make a key contribution to relevant Trust Forums and meetings. To communicate service-related information to senior managers and deliver formal presentations.
To work in collaboration with relevant personnel to facilitate the delivery of practice development meetings. To work cohesively with all stake holders to ensure transparent management of resources, education funding and opportunities are communicated to all staff. To communicate and liaise with the multidisciplinary team, providing a unified approach to education and practice development across childrens and neonatal services on all sites. To provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information.
Service Delivery and Improvement To lead on the identification of Practice Development and Education requirements and work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team in the implementation of changes in practice. To triangulate learning opportunities in collaboration with Clinical Risk and Complaints Department. To assist and support the effective performance of staff to develop standardisation of core competencies. To support the effective delivery of the HEE Quality Framework Standards To support all team members when dealing with difficult or traumatic situations encompassing and highlighting the importance of emotional resilience, human factor and mindfulness awareness and training To have delegated responsibility for any budget ensuring that transformational change is provided within the resources available for service provision.
Authorised signatory for financial payments; responsible the purchase of some physical assets. To manage a team of Senior Practice Development and Clinical Education Facilitators including roster management, appraisals and development. To work collaboratively with the senior nursing leadership to interlink clinical quality needs with education and workforce development. To maintain own clinical skills relevant to the development of practice development specialist role.
To have a highly visible clinical presence acting as a role model to the wider team. To triangulate and lead on clinical evidence-based changes of practice engaging the wider PD team and ward managers. To have a flexible approach to workload in order to meet the demands of the dynamic and unpredictable clinical environment including full shift rotation. To work in collaboration with clinical leaders to develop policies and changes of practice.
To take the lead in monitoring and ensuring that nursing policies and guidelines are up to date and regularly reviewed. To triangulate the quality and safety agenda into education programmes delivered by the team, ensuring transferability to practice. To lead strategic divisional projects and development of professional ambitions. To take a lead role in partnership with Nursing, Quality and Risk Management in developing the directorates strategic direction and policy framework.
Ensures the team contributes significantly to the achievement of corporate objectives and values, monitors effective governance arrangements are implemented and maintained. To work in collaboration with clinical leaders to develop policies and changes of practice. To triangulate the quality and safety agenda into education programmes delivered by the team, ensuring transferability to practice. To lead strategic trust projects and development of professional ambitions.
To take a lead role in partnership with Nursing, Quality and Risk Management in developing the directorates strategic direction and policy framework. Ensures the team contributes significantly to the achievement of corporate objectives and values, monitors effective governance arrangements are implemented and maintained. To carry out any other reasonable duties commensurate with the role and delegated or requested by the manager or supervisor, as the needs of the service require. People Management and Development To work collaboratively with senior nursing leadership to devise and implement the nursing education strategy.
The post holder will have direct oversight of the education services providing support for staff on a day-to-day basis while ensuring efficient management and delivery of service aims. To act as a role model to support all grades of staff, encourage effective working relationships and the development of cohesive team working.
