StocktononTees, United Kingdom Daisy Chain Project Full time

**Community Empowerment Project Coordinator**

**Job brief**

Are you passionate about reducing loneliness and isolation for autistic and neurodivergent adults? Do you have the skills to plan and deliver engaging and impactful support sessions, designed to enhance independence and increase community engagement? If so, we would love to hear from you.

Daisy Chain is a well-known and established charity in the Tees Valley which provides specialist support to autistic children, young people, adults, and their families. Working at Daisy Chain gives you the opportunity to make a difference on a daily basis. Daisy Chain is offering a fantastic opportunity for an organised and enthusiastic individual to join our thriving adult services team as the Project Coordinator for our new community empowerment service My Life, My Community.

We are looking for someone with excellent planning and organisational skills and who has the ability to communicate compassionately, effectively, and productively with diverse individuals. The Community Empowerment Project Coordinator will play a key role in the launch and delivery of our new provision, and in supporting neurodivergent individuals to gain friendships, confidence, and independence within community venues.

There will be regular travel and weekly outreach session delivery throughout the Tees Valley, so access to own transport is essential. The post holder will be required to deliver two evening social clubs per week.

**Hours-26 hours per week (Fixed term for 3 years until 30th April 2026)**

**Salary-£22,211 per annum (pro rata)**

**Key Tasks**

**Coordination**
- Provide line management and support to a small team of staff who will be delivering outreach work across the Tees Valley and may be working remotely.
- Coordinate staffing rotas to ensure all services are staffed appropriately, including the consideration of annual leave and unexpected sickness.
- Actively engage with and promote the project within the voluntary sector community.
- Act as a first point of contact for individuals wishing to engage with the service and lead with the referral, triage, place allocation, and induction process.
- Engage in regular quality assurance of session planning, delivery, and record keeping, to ensure that delivery is of the highest possible standard.
- Lead in the coordination and delivery of bi-monthly social mixer events and annual celebration events across the Tees Valley.
- Work proactively to identify and roll out opportunities to enrich service delivery and support service users to progress and engage (e.g., workshops, resources, session activities, etc.).
- Work closely with the Senior Adult Services Manager to ensure that the project is on track to meet targets and provide effective data for monitoring and impact reporting purposes.

**Operational**
- Work with small groups of autistic and neurodivergent adults, empowering them to develop friendships, increase their independence skills, and participate positively and safely in community-based social and recreational activities throughout the Tees Valley.
- Deliver four, outreach-based, 2-hour community engagement social groups per week, split between two Tees Valley towns including working two evenings per week.
- Provide cover for additional clubs when this is necessary and possible.
- Engage in regular consultation with service users, ensuring that their views and wishes are recorded and incorporated into future planned activities.
- Develop and maintain positive and supportive relationships with autistic children, young people and/or adults and their families.
- Produce weekly planning for social groups ensuring session activities are engaging, empowerment focussed, and in line with service user needs and the overall aims of the project.
- Maintain effective and accurate recording and reporting systems in line with Daisy Chains procedures and project requirements, undertaking other administrative tasks as required.
- Contribute towards the protection of individuals from abuse by adhering to Daisy Chains Child and At-Risk Adults Safeguarding policies at all times.
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained and that Daisy Chains GDPR Policy is adhered to at all times.

**Additional responsibilities**:

- Comply with the Charities Health and Safety policy in all employment practices.
- Maintain the integrity of the Daisy Chain brand in all internal and external communications.
- Maintain a proactive approach to your role and responsibilities along with a commitment to contribute and maintain the positive working ethos within the Charity.
- Ensure attendance at staff meetings.
- Undertake any training and development deemed necessary for the pursuance of the post.
- Work in a way that contributes to the continuous improvement of the Charitys services and embraces the organisations quality initiatives.
- Any other duties from time to time, commensurate with the level of the post
