**Who we are.**

New Lanark Mill Hotel is unlike any other in Scotland. Originally an 18thcentury cotton mill, we offer 38 spacious and stylish bedrooms that combine traditional charm with modern convenience. We’re rated four stars by VisitScotland, and have a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor. We are owned and operated by New Lanark Trust an independent Scottish Charity which is responsible for the ongoing conservation and promotion of New Lanark World Heritage Site.

**Who we are looking for.**

Working as part of our reception team, from check-in to departure, you’ll be committed to delivering exceptional customer service for our guests. You’ll be an enthusiastic, polite and caring individual focused on injecting the wow factor into our welcome. You’ll be passionate about creating an outstanding experience for our guests and you’ll ensure the guest journey is at the heart of everything we do. You’ll be organised and prepared for your day ahead and although you’ll be allocated your own workload on a daily basis, team work is also very important so you’ll be willing to help other team members when they need support.

**What you’ll need.**
- Experience in this role or similar
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Enthusiasm and flexibility
- A professional and courteous attitude at all times
- Ability to work on your own but also an effective team player
- Good time management and ability to work under pressure
- An excellent eye for detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Smart and professional appearance

**Key responsibilities.**
- Provide a full and extensive professional front desk reception and information service to all guests and visitors
- Be the initial point of contact for guests and visitors to the hotel, whether in person, electronically or on the telephone.
- Welcoming guests to the hotel in a professional manner
- Check in and out guests with a warm and friendly manner
- Have the ability to upsell additional services such as food & beverage, beauty treatments and room upgrades
- Administer and process reservations, cancellations, deposits and payments
- Follow operational procedures taking ownership of all front desk duties including float and cash handling
- Professionally deal with all enquiries relating to rooms, weddings, events, conferences and dining
- Ensure internal communication within own team, line management and any other relevant parties is accurate
- Report any maintenance issues and safety hazards
- Work as part of a vibrant team to exceed our guests’ expectations

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £5.28-£10.42 per hour

Expected hours: 22.5 - 37.5 per week
