About the Opportunity

Due to a restructure, Engineering Development are recruiting for a Project Delivery Lead, to join the team, reporting directly to the Group Director, Duncan Steel. The Project Delivery lead will split their time between line management of the Project Managers, Quality Managers and Procurement Engineers within Engineering Development, as well as Project Managing projects. They are accountable for, coordination of resourcing, upskilling, career development and incorporation of 'best practice' and LFE. This role will also be part of the Engineering Development leadership team and as such contribute to overall strategic direction of the performance unit.

This role will be based in the Birchwood facility, in the North West of the UK, which houses labs, rig halls and a manufacturing capability, which offers full project lifecycle solutions via: design, manufacture, testing and deployment. The role will also adopt a hybrid working arrangement and there may also be a need for periodic visits to client sites, as projects require.

**The department**: Engineering Development work with, an ever-growing variety of clients, such as Altrad Babcock, EDF, MoD, NDA, NNL, Sellafield and UKAEA, working closely with them to develop complete solutions to complex problems. Focusing on solving the problem quickly by finding a fit for purpose engineering solution which can be rapidly developed, tested and deployed. This is an opportunity to be involved in new and exciting projects in the Energy, Security and Space sectors.

**Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to**:

- Collaborative working across the ED PU Operations Managers to ensure delivery excellence in the line along with staff capability development
- Line management of the Project Managers, Quality Managers and Procurement Engineers within Engineering Development.
- Line Management focused on the care, wellbeing, personal development and career development of our staff aligned to Jacobs core values and expectations through 'full life cycle' management.
- Ensuring the incorporation of 'best practice' and LFE into the framework/project /task delivery.
- Engagement with stakeholders and clients to develop and maintain appropriate measures and delivery methodologies.
- Ensure team have everything they need for flawless project execution, meeting or beating the delivery commitments made.
- Progressing a multi-disciplined approach with the appropriate resources including interface with business supporting functions.
- Identification of improvements and drive initiatives to enhance the aims of the business and project performance to ensure maximised benefits and value-added outcomes.

**Here's what you'll need**:

- A proven track record in successfully managing a team.
- Experienced Project Manager.
- Proven financial management and commercial skills and experience including project forecasting, budget monitoring, tendering and contract processes and bidding and winning work.
- Able to communicate effectively and develop relationships with at all levels of the business.
- A clear focus on collaboration
- Enthusiasm, drive and a proactive and adaptable approach suited to the diverse and challenging nature of the business, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Clear and confident communicator, who is experienced in managing, influencing and challenging key stakeholders.
