**About the Role**

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Learning to play an instrumental role in ensuring the provision of a full Learning and Development Service together with promoting Apprentice Schemes. You will lead and manage a small team to develop a strong learning culture, evaluating all activities to ensure that they meet operational objectives and add value at both an individual, team, and organisational level.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement a strategic learning and development roadmap aligned with the organisation's goals, values, and objectives.
- Define learning priorities, goals, and metrics to measure the effectiveness of learning initiatives.
- Design and develop innovative learning programs, courses, and resources to address the learning needs of employees across all levels and functions. Incorporate a blend of learning modalities, including instructor-led training, e-learning, on-the-job training, and self-directed learning.
- Oversee the delivery and facilitation of learning programs, ensuring engaging and effective learning experiences for participants.
- Develop and implement leadership development programs to cultivate and strengthen leadership capabilities across the organization.
- Provide coaching and support to senior leaders and managers to enhance their leadership skills and effectiveness.
- Integrate learning and development initiatives with performance management processes to drive continuous improvement and employee growth.
- Align learning objectives with performance goals and provide support for skills development and competency enhancement.
- Evaluate and implement learning technologies and systems to support the delivery and management of learning programs.
- Ensure the effective use of learning management systems (LMS) or other platforms to track training completion, manage content, and assess learning outcomes.
- Establish mechanisms to collect and analyse data on learning effectiveness, participant feedback, and business impact.
- Use data insights to evaluate the success of learning initiatives and make data-driven decisions to optimize learning programs.
- Manage the learning and development budget effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and alignment with strategic priorities.
- Monitor expenses and track ROI to demonstrate the value of learning investments.
- Communicate regularly with employees to promote awareness and participation in learning opportunities.
- Produce the Apprentice strategy to provide a framework and ensure maximum returns of the Apprentice Levy
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of the external and internal apprentices by analysing and reviewing the key metrics.

- CIPD L5 or equivalent
- Safeguarding training & Experience
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in learning and development, talent management, or related roles.
- Proven record of designing and implementing effective learning programs that drive employee engagement, performance, and retention.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and learning technology trends.
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and other learning technologies is desirable.
- Apprenticeship experience including Levy Management.
