Croydon Early Help and Clinical Services Team are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health and emotional Wellbeing Practitioner to join their service. The post holder will be part of the Clinical Service, who offers support to Early Help Services. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in supporting the mental and emotional wellbeing of young people who are involved with Early Help Services.
**Responsibilities**:
- Contribute to, and where appropriate conduct comprehensive assessments of the presenting needs of young people and their families.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans tailored to the specific needs of each young person.
- Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as systemic interventions, cognitive-behavioural therapy skills, and trauma-informed care, to address mental health / wellbeing concerns.
- Collaborate closely with Early Help workers, social workers, and other professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to support and intervention.
- Offer support and guidance and intervention to families and carers, helping them understand and cope with their child's wellbeing challenges.
- Offer consultations and support to Early Help staff around wellbeing issues.
- Work closely with our partner agencies in the community, which includes GPs and Schools.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions and interventions, adhering to confidentiality and data protection guidelines.

**Requirements**:
- Intermediate (or above) training in systemic practice or relevant level expereince
- Proven experience working as a mental health practitioner, preferably with young people and their families.
- Sound knowledge of mental health and wellbeing issues affecting young individuals, including conduct disorders, substance abuse, self-harm, and trauma.
- Familiarity with therapeutic modalities and interventions suitable for young people and families.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build trusting relationships with young people.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage a caseload effectively and prioritize competing demands.
- Sensitivity to cultural and diversity issues, ensuring a non-judgmental and inclusive approach.
