Specialist Practitioner

Bournemouth, United Kingdom Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust Full time

The Dorset All Age Community Eating disorders service has an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Practitioner in Eating Disorders. You will have the option of being based at Trinity Court in Dorchester or our new base Spring Court on the Kings Park Hospital site.

Experience of delivering NICE concordant eating disorders treatment is advantageous, however we also invite your expression of interest if you have transferable skills gained from working in other areas of mental health (adults and/or children) and would embrace the opportunity to develop the eating disorder specific competencies required. We will support and facilitate your development, tailored to your learning needs and experience.

The team will provide evidence-based interventions to people with
an ED, their families/carers.

The principal role is in partnership with people with an ED, families
and carers to assess, plan and implement evidence-based
interventions and care to promote recovery from eating disorders.
The post holder will hold their own caseload and work closely with
all other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

A key secondary role is in liaison and joint working with other
professionals, including general practice, CAMHS, adult mental
health, LEA/schools and universities, to support integrated treatment
and to widen awareness of the complexities involved in the
management and treatment of Eating Disorders.

The post is offered as a 20-month secondment or fixed term contract. Full or Part-time (Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00). There is also an option of a permanent contract, with 20 months in the eating disorder service, followed by redeployment within the Trust should the demand for eating disorder services reduce
