Lymington, United Kingdom Cook Trading Limited Full time

Retail Team Member

1 X 11hrs Wednesday & Thursdays 1 x 15hrs Thursday and Friday with some occasional Saturdays

There’s more to COOK than food: our shops play active roles in the communities they serve and that’s thanks to the warmth, knowledge and care of our Retail Team. We’re looking for remarkable people to join us who can host customers in the shop just like they would at home.

If that sounds like you, we want to hear from you.

About COOK

COOK is a pioneering frozen food company, since 1997 we’ve been making remarkable food for your freezer, prepared by hand at our Kitchens in Kent (savoury) and Somerset (puddings) using the same ingredients and techniques you would at home. It means our food looks and tastes homemade maybe even a bit better.

We’re market leaders and (more importantly) our food tastes incredible. We have over 90 shops and a rapidly growing online business.

We’re independent (family-owned) and always will be because it allows us to do things the right way, not the fast way. We believe in business as a force for good in society and have certified as one of the UK’s first B Corporations to help us measure what matters when it comes to our impact on our environment, our people and our community.

We share 5% of our annual profits with staff.

Your Team

Support your Shop Manager and Team members by being an active part of the team, willing to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in. Working together to create a remarkable shop experience.

The Role
- Offer remarkable service, the customer is always more important than anything else you are doing.
- Use your knowledge to help customers plan menus or advise on catering for occasions. Talk to customers about upcoming offers, products and promotions.
- We are a food business - make sure the shop always looks immaculate, clean and spotless, stock is replenished and rotated, and the freezers are full.
- Be a whizz on the till. Operate it efficiently and accurately.
- Understand the shop paperwork, necessary legal checks and their purpose.
- Open up the shop. Close the shop and cash up.
- Check in deliveries and placing orders, assist with stock taking as required.
- Look smart with apron, and name badge on at all times.

Good to Have

If you are a foodie then great, but we will train you to know our products, including how and where they are made, and to understand what dishes suit which occasions.

Experience not necessary but previous experience of working in Retail or in a customer facing role would be the icing on the cake.Other bits

Excellent Benefits including paid breaks, free food, CookieJar Smart Spending discounts on leading brands, profit share, 30% staff discount and birthdays off and much more.

Due to some lone working you will need to be over 18.

Ask us about flexible working.

Our vision for COOK has always been that we are a place where EVERYONE is welcome. We want everyone to feel like they belong at COOK. We all have different roles, different abilities and different personalities. By collaborating we can do remarkable things. Whatever your story, if you would like to grow with COOK please apply.

Summary
- Come and join our friendly Shop team and make peoples day with a smile and our amazing food.

£10.60 for the engagement period
